Indeed.
It doesn't look like Zula will be in Season 1.
Maybe in season 2?
I know have a theory about Zula.
Ok so in the beginning, we see Paku, some unknown earthbender, Zula and Aang. As evidence leads, perhaps Zula will be the one to teach Aang firebending! : o
Aang already knows airbending so he doesn't need a master to teach him that, and that's why he represents air.
Paku is the waterbending master who teaches him waterbending, so he represents water.
So, as it goes, unknown earthbending guy and Zula must be the masters who teach Aang their respective elements!
